The Wii will be a boon for wife beaters: “We were playing Wii Sports and … and……”
A lot of video game related stuff has been happening here recently. The PS3 was released a couple days ago and some interesting events have transpired.
At launch, all of Japan received 100,000 PS3s. I’m guessing many of you have nothing to compare that with, but just keep in mind that it’s low. So, 100,000 systems and, at least, 1 million people who want to own the system. This is not the crazy part. First, many Chinese people bought them for ruthless Japanese entrepreneurs. Second, the Yakuza (the Japanese mafia) bought lots of PS3s. These numbers are probably in the thousands. Both of these groups are going to resell them at a much higher cost. The PS3 is already expensive (70,000 yen for the good model) and resell prices are already around, if not above, 100,000 yen. Wonderful!
Who wants to spend a crapload of money on a PS3? Not me!
In much less interesting news, I got to play the PS3 at Bic Camera. They had a Devil May Cry 4* demo on display at the store. It looked good, but certainly not $600, nor 70,000 yen for that matter, good. Think about a nice looking PC game with the graphics on the highest setting. They also had some Wiis on display, but no demos.
It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

This is the only site on the internet I can read just for the titles.
But I’ve been reading that because -everyone- is buying PS3s to re-sell, at least it keeps people from re-selling them at a SUPER ridiculous price like 2 grand or something… It keeps it in the ‘low low’ price of 1000 or something… I know…it’s terrible, but I want one!
Or a wii… or both really.
