Posts are still a little slow in coming, but do not fear, reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. If you want to learn a new language you need to be able to say that you said something to someone other than the person you’re speaking to right now. Then again, if you don’t want to talk about conversations that you had then you could always become a mute.

Today we have two words: 言う（いう, say） and 話す（はなす, speak). Pretty straightforward.
