Amazing job Prof. Stankiewicz. You’ve managed to make the standard of living in all big cities fluctuate wildly. Now how can we make some money from this?

The most expensive cities list came out this month. As usual, they always don’t exactly say all the important details about how they collect the data or how they compare the numbers to other cities. What you should know is that this is all based on the dollar and does not take into consideration median salary in the city/country. Some people in the comments have made some good suggestions that no one will probably follow. Whatever the Economist doesn’t do to fix the problem the best solution is to just add a couple words to the title so that everyone doesn’t misunderstand the facts. i.e. By adding “in dollars” or “for Americans” to the end of the title they can make sure that even little drooly Frank will get exactly what they mean.

Maybe if I hope enough someone will make a useful index and not something only useful for companies that move their corporate rats around to different countries.

You mean there are plebeians that read the Economist!? Oh Bartleby, you are such a joker.
